Some Issues & What's Going On
November 24, 2003

You are all probably curious as to the state of depthCORE and what is happening. First of all I would like to make something clear. depthCORE is NOT a graphic design firm, which means we do not personally partake on the act of designing graphics for individuals or partake in any contract work. depthCORE is an artgroup which means it is made up solely by a limited number of talented individuals. If you wish to hire an artist to provide some artwork for you, then you must speak to that artist personally and not by contacting depthCORE. If you cannot find the email of a particular artist on profile display, then it is the artist's choice not to disclose that particular information. Therefore, we will not provide that kind of information to third parties. This next issue is very important as it concerns copyright and the act of ripping. depthCORE does *NOT* offer the graphics contained on this site for free commercial use. If you wish to utilize a graphic of any sort, then you must obtain the necessary permissions from the artist to utilize a graphic. Again, if you cannot get a hold of the artist or the artist does not provide any means of contacting them, then do not pursue the issue. Simply discard said intentions and move on. In order to uphold the integrity of the quality of craftsmanship on the art contained on this website, we also highly recommend you compensate the artist with the appropriate monetary compensations and royalties that apply. depthCORE is also not a community of any sort. Last we checked, we were an artgroup. It is an incentive that we provide "groupie" interaction with the site and its members. This means you shouldn't complain about the low interaction. Be glad what you have. It is more than sufficient to complete what needs to be completed. We need to focus more on the art itself which is the whole purpose of this website. Interaction is second and last. Furthermore, we discourage ourselves from offering tutorials and resources that may be used to further advance the skills of a novice, so do not bother asking because the answer will almost likely be no. The only way to become better is through self-realization and self-learning, which is what we DO encourage. Recently there has been some DNS server issues which are completely out of our control, which means you must cope with these strange but very minor issues until they resolve which we hope is soon. We also do not have the ability to FTP at this moment as a security issue is currently being worked on the other side, which is again, out of our control. depthCORE is also in the challenge of changing servers to the more dedicated and dominant backbone of Shiver7 and soon to be ShiverLabs. During this change over, you can expect to experience a couple days at most of downtime while DNS reroutes and updates globally. You will also be treated to a much faster surfing experience to make the perusal of depthCORE images a fun and exciting visual adventure. Another thing at the moment is DC Radio. Because of the security issues plaguing depthCORE's current hosting, inbound traffic is firewalled and certain PHP functions are unusable so we therefore had to disable the script. Also, me (alphakx) the main DC Radio music broadcaster, doesn't have a broadband connection yet to broadcast high-quality tunes throughout the day. As soon as he gets it and the servers are back in order, DC Radio will come back. You all are probably wondering what the deal is with Pack 10. Well, it will release, but with the FTP problem currently disabling us from uploading files, you all will have to be patient in the meantime.
