Erik Finsrud
Biography
It all started in high school, when I took commercial / traditional art and photography classes, and was blessed with amazing teachers. Music has always been a huge passion of mine, and while I was going to school I found ways of infusing my visual creativity with my DJ'ing by creating my own mixtape covers, and flyers for events I was DJ'ing at. After school I realized I needed to have art, design, and music involved in my vocation, so I went to school at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida and got an Associate of Science in Recording Arts, and a Bachelor of Science in Digital Art & Design.
During my last bit of schooling I managed to start picking up freelance clients, one of them being the record label Breakbeat Science in NYC, one of the main players in the US's electronic music scene. I also had my artwork selected for a few showcases at the Orlando Museum of Art, and my music featured in the international drum & bass magazine: Knowledge, as well as a track signing to Covert Operations.
Currently i'm living in New York City working as an interactive designer at Special Ops Media. On the side I run a line of street wear called Breakbeat Science Gear, with my partner DJ DB, one of the dons of american drum & bass.
When i'm not working, I enjoy jogging, trying new beer, and chillaxin' in a coffee shop.
